Thomas Cooper and Cooper Hall
Thomas Cooper was a professor at Dickinson, a scientist, and a political figure. Remembered mostly for his additions to scientific technology at Dickinson and his strengths as a teacher, Dickinson has forgotten Cooper's involvement with the peculiar institution. Reconciling his impassioned pro-slavery stance with his influence and importance as a scientist and professor, this project attempts to grapple with the question of renaming Dickinson College's Cooper Hall, a building unnamed until 1992.
